TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – A new City Council member will be announced at today’s meeting, which begins at 5 p.m. at the Twin Falls City Council Chambers, 305 Third Ave. East.

Mayor Shawn Barigar will announce the applicant who will replace Councilman Don Hall when he resigns in January due to his being elected on the County Commission.

The chosen applicant – one of 14 who threw their name in the pool for consideration – will fill the remainder of Hall’s term through 2017, and will have to run in the November elections if he or she wishes to continue on Seat 6.

Among the other agenda items include a quarterly report of pool operations from the YMCA City Pool manager and board members; a report on the Main Avenue Improvement Project by the Urban Renewal Agency; and a request to approve a five-year contract with People for Pets-Magic Valley Humane Society.
