TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – One of two men changed with first degree murder after allegedly killing a man who was selling a car on Craigslist pleaded guilty to three of six counts Wednesday and will likely spend life in prison.

Jacob Lyn Marshall agreed to plead guilty to first-degree murder, with an enhancement for use of a firearm, in addition to a robbery count and a batter with intent to commit a serious felony. Marshall’s sentencing is slated for Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. at the Twin Falls County Courthouse. He is set to spend life in the custody of the state with a fixed period of 70 years before being eligible for parole. Marshall is set to serve the two additional counts concurrently with the first.

In the plea agreement, the state dismissed charges of conspiracy to committee murder and conspiracy to commit robbery and battery charges. Marshal was one of two men indicted by a grand jury on first-degree murder charges last summer in the killing of Kent Storrer. Jasper Qualls, Storrer’s son-in-law was injured in the shooting. Jerry Burton Kimball was the second person charged in the murder case.

According to the indictment, Kimball knowingly drove Marshall for the purpose of robbery. “Marshall’s stated intent was to rob and or kill the owner of the vehicle for sale” according to the court document. On July 23, Qualls listed his 1991 Mitsubishi 3000 for sale on Craigslist. The shooting happened on Saturday, July 25 just after 10 p.m. at a home on North Hankins Road.
