It's about time! Oregon is finally raising it's speed limit by a whole 5mph. Currently the speed limit is 65mph on I-84 for vehicles and 60mph for trucks. It's almost painfully to slow down from 80mph to 65mph when you cross the Idaho/Oregon border. Hopefully, slowing down from 80mph to 70mph will be less painful.

The signs are expected to be installed by March 1st on I-84. Just in time for spring break travel!

At that time the speed limit will be 70 mph for passenger cars and 65 mph for commercial trucks between the Idaho border and The Dalles. Those speeds will also be applied for Oregon highway U.S. 95 from the Nevada border to Idaho.
