BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter says he's waiving inspection fees for state electrical, plumbing and HVAC permits for buildings damaged by wildfires in northern Idaho.

Otter announced Tuesday that he had signed an executive order waiving permit fees for residents in Clearwater, Idaho and Lewis counties. Otter said residents and buildings are moving into the rebuilding phase and the state should help ease the financial burden.

State Division of Building Safety Administrator C. Kelly Pearce says that dozens of homes and other outbuildings were damaged during this year's wildfire season in north-central Idaho.
