POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — The Pocatello Zoo in southeast Idaho has a new grizzly bear. The 2-year-old female weighing about 200 pounds arrived Thursday morning after being captured Monday in Wyoming where she had become habituated to humans.

Zoo Superintendent Peter Pruett says the unnamed bear will remain in quarantine for 30 days. He says after that the bear will be viewable to the public at the zoo's grizzly enclosure. Pruett says zoo officials plan to slowly introduce the new bear to Stripes, a 29-year-old female grizzly also at the zoo.

Pruett says the new bear appears a bit scared but is eating apples and other food supplied by zoo workers. Wildlife officials say if not for the zoo the bear would have been euthanized.
