JEROME, Idaho (KLIX) – A Jerome mas has been arrested for aggravated assault after he fired several gunshots at a woman late Tuesday night.

The incident occurred about 11: 40 p.m. in the 100 block of 10th Ave. East, but police did not arrest the suspect, 33-year-old Jason D. Seig, until early this morning after several attempts to contact him.

According to information from the Jerome Police Department:

When officers responded to the area, they contacted an alleged victim, a 36-year-old woman who reported that she was attempting to return a wallet to Jason D. Seig in front of his residence in Jerome. The victim stated that Seig refused to walk up and take the wallet from her so she tossed the wallet out of her vehicle at which point Seig allegedly fired three shots from a handgun, striking the victim’s vehicle as she drove away.

When officers arrived at the residence where the incident occurred, they made several attempts to contact Seig but without success. The Twin Falls County Crisis Response Team was called for assistance, and the team was able to arrest him.

Seig was taken into custody a little after 6 a.m. Wednesday. He was arrested for aggravated assault and booked into the Jerome County Jail.

No one was injured during the incident.
