NAMPA (KTVB) – A Caldwell woman in is custody after police say she tried to ram a Nampa Police patrol car with her car during a pursuit on city streets this morning.

Around 8:21 a.m., a Nampa Police officer was attempting to stop a 1990s model BMW for speeding near Homedale Road and Nampa-Caldwell Boulevard. As the officer tried to get behind the BMW, a second car, a gold Hyundai Elantra attempted to ram the patrol car. Police believe both vehicles were traveling together.

The officer activated his siren and emergency lights to try and get both cars to pull over. After a short pursuit, the driver of the Elantra crashed into a power pole at Midway and Cleveland Boulevard.

Shaeanna Valenzuela, 23, of Caldwell was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She is charged with aggravated assault on police, eluding, possession of a control substance, distribution of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia and failure to purchase a driver's license.

Meanwhile, the BMW is still at large. The car is a silver 1990s model and has four doors. The rear bumper of the car has a yellow stripe that appears to be where the silver paint has worn off, exposing the primer or plastic on the bumper.

The driver was a white male and was last seen on Laster Lane.

Anyone with information about the BMW or the suspect is urged to call Nampa Police.

The investigation is ongoing.
