A series of meetings is scheduled for this week regarding the siting of a large transmission line from Wyoming to Idaho.

The BLM says the hearings this week will take place in Almo, Burley and Twin Falls.  The Twin Falls meeting will take place today from 4 until 7 this afternoon at the Red Lion Hotel Canyon Springs Inn on Blue Lakes Blvd. North.  The Burley meeting will take place Wednesday at the Best Western Burley Inn from 4 until 7 and the Almo meeting will be held at the City of Rocks National reserve Service Center in Almo on Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m.  BLM officials will be listening to residents of those areas about the proposed route for the Idaho Power and Rocky Mountain power project.  It is a high-voltage transmission line that, when completed, will stretch for over 1100 miles From Wyoming, across southern Idaho and into the Treasure Valley area.
