President Barack Obama has issued a major disaster declaration for Idaho. Earlier this month, Governor "Butch" Otter requested more than $5 million in federal money for six Northern Idaho counties to pay for fixing roads that were damaged by flooding and landslides during April. Obama ordered federal money go toward repairs in Bonner, Clearwater, Idaho, Nez Perce, and Shoshone counties and the Nez Perce tribe reservation. In many of those areas additional flooding remains a major concern.  state hydrologist, Jeff Anderson  says the amount of snow is a concern, but barring any high temperatures, the snow pack should melt slowly, making the run off more manageable. The President's deceleration makes federal funding available to counties with flooding damage.
