PTAC Schedules First Meeting of New Year, Feb. 17

BOISE (News Release) – The Public Transportation Advisory Council (PTAC) will meet new public transportation grant officers, hear an overview and update of the program, and participate in a workshop Feb. 17 in Boise.

The meeting will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Idaho Transportation Department Headquarters, 3311 W. State St.

PTAC members will review Quarterly Funding Report Cards from ITD’s public transportation office, and Idaho’s Workforce Transportation Initiative. The group also will select a member to represent north-central Idaho and vote for concurrence on the Intercity Governor’s Certification.

“ITD-Public Transportation is committed to fostering a safe, mobility-focused public transportation program throughout Idaho that promotes economic opportunity and growth for all of Idaho’s citizens,” said Public Transportation Manager Mark Bathrick. “This meeting will highlight some of the initiatives my office has underway, as well as continue to build upon the goals outlined by the PTAC members.”

The PTAC was created to advise the transportation department on issues related to public transportation. Per Idaho Code, the council participates in planning activities, identifies transportation needs and promotes coordinated transportation systems. It is composed of six members, one representing each of ITD’s administrative districts.
