Idaho’s back-country is living history.  Or it was until the environmentalists came along.

It’s the equivalent of Chinese water torture for the ears.

I drove a stretch of old Oregon Trail a few days ago.  You’ve got wide open space, mountains and streams.  And don’t forget the giant pinwheels dotting the horizon.  A few weeks ago I drove to Oakley.  The same marred scenery!

Solar power may have some promise.  It gets more efficient each passing day.  Solar arrays will keep getting smaller while delivering a bigger bang for the buck.  Not so with wind power.  At one point I parked beneath a turbine and recorded the sound.  Beneath the wind gusts you can hear the low grade turning of the blades.  It’s the equivalent of Chinese water torture for the ears.

Tourists come to see the old trail.  They don’t come to look at the unsightly and garish wind generators.
