Two redistricting commissioners have been replaced by the GOP. Randy Hansen of Twin Falls and Delores Crow have been fired despite an opinion last week from the Idaho Attorney General's office that such action is illegal. On Monday, the Republican Party announced Semanko had removed Randy Hansen, while Idaho House Speaker Lawrence Denney had removed Dolores Crow. Denney said last week he was removing Crow because members of his GOP House caucus thought she'd supported legislative districts that were too favorable to minority Democrats. There is some speculation that Hansen was also seen as too willing to compromise with those across the isle. The redistricting panel is due to meet again Thursday to decide Idaho's legislative boundaries, after the Idaho Supreme Court threw a previous plan out. Crow has said she has no plans to quit, indicating a possible legal fight to be settled by the Supreme Court over whether redistricting commissioners can be fired.
