Following his wild success with AMC's 'The Walking Dead,' comic book creator and series executive producer Robert Kirkman is bringing another one of his books to the small screen: Kirkman is developing a pilot of 'Outcast,' his new comic book series which takes the writer from the realm of zombies to the world of demonic possession.

Tweeting from Comic-Con 2014, Kirkman confirmed that he's moving ahead with a pilot for 'Outcast' at Cinemax. Kirkman wrote the pilot for the series and, as with 'The Walking Dead,' will also executive produce. The writer has also penned a handful of episodes of the AMC series, but this is the first time he's scripted a pilot for his own show.

'Outcast' centers on Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been tormented by demons since he was a child. As an adult, Kyle decides to set out on a mission to uncover the truth behind his ailment, which leads him deep into the world of demonic possession and exorcisms, but what he discovers could herald the end of Earth -- and life -- as we know it.

The comic book series just made its debut this summer, but given the success of 'The Walking Dead' and Kirkman's penchant for humanizing horror stories, it's no surprise that there would be interest in seeing another Kirkman adaptation brought to the small screen.
