RUPERT, Id ( KMVT- TV / KSVT- TV ) Excitement filled the park of a war memorial in Rupert this evening. A crowd gathered to dedicate the monument and celebrate the successful passing of a new law that went into effect just today.

As of midnight on July 1st, the Idaho Roll Call Memorial's flag, can legally be flown at half staff. Kelly Anthon, Rupert's City Administrator said, "This is a special monument because it not only honors our war dead, but it's one of the very first times in the United State's history really, that we have permission from the government to fly the flag at half staff."

All 9 veteran group organizations out of Mini Cassia backed the bill. George Mass organized the memorial and put countless hours into this project. Mass says this particular memorial has meant so much to veterans and their families.
