HORSESHOE BEND, Idaho (KTVB) -- Some more bad news for a struggling southern Idaho school district.

Laura Baker with the Horseshoe Bend School District reports that a handicap-accessible school bus was torched around 5 a.m. Saturday. The bus was parked at the high school. The fire also damaged a nearby van.

Baker says the culprits also broke into the PTE building, smashing windows and a computer screen, and taking some items. A class that is normally held there had to be moved because of the damage.

The Idaho State Fire Marshal's Office posted a photo of the damaged bus on their Facebook page.

This case is being treated as arson.

The fire marshal and Boise County Sheriff's Office are seeking information about the crime.

A $500 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Boise County Sheriff's dispatch 208-392-4411 or the Arson Hotline at 1-877-75-ARSON.
