Senate Passes Education Budget
There was some good news for Idaho's public education budget Tuesday. The state Senate passed a budget that is one percent larger than last year's. Senate Majority Leader Bart Davis says the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee focused on providing flexibility for local school districts by redirecting $33.4 million into discretionary funds. JFAC also came up with a new mechanism that will give even more money to schools if state revenue comes in higher than projected.
