Sentencing Delay for Twin Falls Man in Craigslist Rape Case

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The sentencing for an Idaho man accused placing an online man to solicit the rape of his wife has been delayed while officials wait to find out the man's disability status from the Idaho National Guard.

The Times-News reports the Twin Falls man pleaded guilty in 5th District Court earlier this year to posting a Craigslist ad claiming to be his wife and asking to be raped. Prosecutors say two men responded to the ad on separate days, forcing their way into the woman's home.

She scared one off by firing a gun and held the other at gunpoint until police arrived. The Associated Press is withholding the defendant's name to protect the victim's identity. Attorneys are waiting to hear whether the man has disability status for mental illness.
