The National Weather Service in has issued a Severe Thunderstorm warning for southeastern Gooding County, Jerome County, and Twin Falls County until 2:15 pm.

Doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from near Buhl to near China Mountain and moving northeast at 40 mph.

Severe thunderstorms will be near:

  • Buhl around 1:10 pm.
  • Filer around 1:20 pm.
  • Jerome, Twin Falls, Rogerson and Winter Spring around 1:30 pm.
  • Kimberly, Hansen, and Timber Butte around 1:40 pm.
  • Eden, Magic Mountain, and Minidoka National Monument around 1:50 pm.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the Road.

When safe to do so, please relay storm reports to the National Weather Service in Boise Idaho via local law enforcement or National Weather Service Boise on facebook.
