Shoshone Man Charged after Alleged Rape of Underage Girl

Shoshone, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A Shoshone man is behind bars facing multiple felony rape charges.

According to court records, 47-year-old Santiago Cruz-Ocampo was arrested after a family member of the victim reported he was forcing the underage girl to have sex with him. Cruz-Ocampo allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, who is now 15, over the past five years.

His bond has been set at $1 million, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 16th. If convicted, Cruz-Ocampo could face life in prison.
