BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials in Ada County say it will cost about $60,000 to replace highway reflectors damaged by snowplows.

Ada County Highway District spokeswoman Nicole Pineda tells KBOI-TV  that about 1,200 reflectors need to be replaced each year. Pineda says old blades on snowplows do the most damage and also cause paint on the road to fade.

She says newer blades can skip over reflectors but it's not a perfect system. She says the agency is looking at getting reflectors that are more resistant to snowplow blades.
