YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Officials at Yellowstone National Park report some roads are opening Friday to vehicle travel.

Visitors will be able to travel by car starting on Friday from West Yellowstone and Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The roads are set to open at 8 a.m.

Crews at the park have been working to clear roads of snow and ice. Additional road segments in the park will open during May as road clearing operations continue.

The road from the park's North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana, through Mammoth Hot Springs to the Northeast Entrance, Silver Gate and Cooke City, Montana, is open all year.

The park plans to waive entrance fees for spring visitors on April 18 and 19 to kick off National Park Week.
