CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A 63-year-old southwest Idaho woman has died in an industrial accident at a seed plant.

Officials say Francisca R. Gomez of Parma died Wednesday at the Crookham Company seed operation in Caldwell. The Idaho Statesman reports Gomez's hair got caught in a piece of machinery, pulling her against the machine.

Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris says the death was an accident and that Gomez died from blood loss and traumatic asphyxia.

The coroner says the woman was apparently working alone when the accident happened, but others came to her aid moments later. Gomez died at the scene. DeGeus-Morris said she didn't know what type of machinery was involved in the incident.
