‘Star Wars’ Gets Reimagined in the Wild West With These Nifty Action Figures

Sillof

No popular brand has been explored, examined, reinterpreted and reinvented as much as ‘Star Wars,’ and with the impending release of ‘Star Wars: Episode 7,’ we can fully expect fandom to enter a state usually reserved for small children who have stumbled across a cache of sugar. Every so often, we can cut through all of the lousy fan art, cosplay and fan fiction and stumble across something that is legitimately cool.

Case in point: this line of custom action figures, which takes the iconography of ‘Star Wars’ and puts it in American’s old West.

Created by the artist known as Sillof, these “West Wars” figures are a fun and clever novelty. What if the rogue smuggler Han Solo was a cowboy instead of a spacefarer? What if Darth Vader was an evil, masked, sword-wielding sheriff with an army of white-suited henchmen? As you can see in the images below, Sillof’s choices in transferring these iconic characters between genres range from extremely clever (Chewbacca is now a Native American warrior) to the totally crazy (C-3PO is now a cowardly bartender), but they all make some sort of slightly deranged (in the best possible way) sense.

For more on these ‘Star Wars’-turned’cowboy characters and they’re stories, you can check out Sillof’s official site, where he displays all kinds of geeky custom art. If you ever wanted to see ‘Star Wars’ merged with ‘Mad Max,’ or Dr. Seuss combined with ‘Jurassic Park,’ your day will be made.
