(KLIX)- Currently the Idaho Water Resource Board is presenting it proposed changes to
the Idaho Comprehensive State Water Plan. It is intended to serve as a guiding
document for water management throughout the state. Last night the board held a
public hearing on the proposed plan. Roughly a dozen people showed up,
including representative of the Twin Falls Canal Company and Clear Springs
Foods. Only a representative with the Idaho Water Users Association commented. Helen
Harrington with the Idaho Department of Water Resources says the last up date
to the plan was in 1996. The process for the current update began in 2007. Other meetings are scheduled throughout the summer in other parts of the state. The public can still comment until late
September 21 2012 at SWP@idwr.idaho.gov. The revised plan could make it before law makers by the next
legislative session.
