It's hard to find the right balance in a city. Many want that small town feel, but also desire lots of things to do. According to a recently released study, Twin Falls may be in the process of losing the small town quality of life it was once known for.

Wallet Hub compiled some interesting metrics to determine which relatively small towns have balanced growth without losing their charm. The factors included affordability, safety, education and general quality of life.  By these measures, Twin Falls has some challenges.

Twin Falls ends up in the 66th percentile of small American cities with 99 being the best. The categories where Twin Falls did not score well included affordability and safety. With some of the incidents of crime that have happened this year, that is not surprising. The cost of housing and lack of affordable rental properties does not help our situation either.

But, it's not all bad news. Twin Falls does best in the perceived qualify of life score. That includes this from Wallet Hub.

  • Average Commute Time: Full Weight (~1.82 Points)
