KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — A Saturday morning fire on Bald Mountain has significantly damaged some lift stations as well as a snowmaking facility, temporarily closing part of Sun Valley Company's primary ski area.

The resort tells the Idaho Mountain Express that the fire occurred at about the 8,200-foot level of the mountain and separated the main ski lift cable on the Flying Squirrel chairlift.

Fire officials say no one was injured. A cause for the blaze has not been determined, and no damage estimates have been provided.

Sun Valley Company officials say most of the ski runs on Bald Mountain remain open on Saturday.

But a ski race scheduled for the Warm Springs side of the mountain has been canceled.
