Survey: Only Half Of Idahoans Pleased With Direction

According to a survey conducted by Boise State University, Fewer than half of Idahoans believe the state is headed in the right direction.  525 Idahoans were questioned for the 20th public policy survey. Of those, only 49 percent feel the state is headed in the right direction. That’s a sharp decline from 2007 when 66 percent felt the state was on the right track. Also for the first time in 20 years more Idahoans identified themselves as independents than Republicans. Thirty-seven percent of respondents called themselves independents compared to 33 percent as Republicans.  Democrats were 21 percent. 51 percent  of those surveyed say jobs and the economy are important issues facing Idaho. Education and politics and government came in third and fourth places.
