A 43-year-old Jerome man arrested after a nearly nine-hour standoff with law officers is charged with aggravated assault after shots were fired outside a Jerome bar. The Times-News reports Rogelio Mendoza also is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and restricting or obstructing officers.

Witnesses told police Mendoza fired multiple rounds near a crowd early Sunday before fleeing in a vehicle. Jerome Police Chief Dan Hall says no injuries were reported. The vehicle was found outside a house and the home's residents surrendered. Two others -- 50-year-old Ayde Demara-Lozano and 23-year-old Edgar Salazar-Francisco -- were found hiding in the house. They face charges of aiding in the commission of a felony and resisting or obstructing officers.
