It’s a chance for residents to dispose of prescription drugs in a safe and responsible way, according to the sheriff’s office. A focus of the event is also on educating the public about the hazards of the potential abuse of prescription drugs.

The sheriff’s office encourages community members to bring any expired or unused prescribed or over-the-counter medications for disposal. Medications need to be in their original containers.
