TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is warning of a telephone scam that has targeted a number of county residents. The office received several reports of the attempted scam on Friday.

“The person calling states they are with a local pharmacy (they use an actual pharmacy name), then state there was a problem with a recent prescription that was filled and start asking for personal information,” a news release states.

The Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to not give out any personal information over the phone.

“If you believe it may be your pharmacy calling, hang up and dial them back after verifying the correct phone number for your pharmacy, not the phone number of the incoming call.”
