There is a plan in the works that could relocate many of the Twin Falls County offices into the former St. Luke’s Hospital building on West Addison in Twin Falls. The Times News reports today that an Hummel Architects presented a rough plan and a $5.8 million cost estimate to remodel part of the old hospital building. County Commissioners looked at the plan this week and indicated they were pleased with the proposed plan.
There has been a lot of conversation recently about the possible merger of St. Benedicts Family Medical Center in Jerome and St. Luke Health System which operates hospitals all over the state, including Twin Falls.
When Twin Falls County takes possession of the former hospital facility on July first, it will also inherit the maintenance requirements to keep it in a marketable condition. The county is looking for tenants for the 17 acre facility and the only way to keep it marketable is to keep it looking nice.
After years of planning, building and waiting, it's official. The new Saint Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center is now open for business. The doors of the new 70,000 square-foot hospital opened for business on Saturday.
