It was the news we’d all be hoping and wishing and waiting for: last night, Marvel officially announced that they’ve reached an agreement with Sony for a Spider-Man crossover, which could also allow for MCU characters to crossover into Spidey’s own films. On top of that, Marvel is teaming up with Sony for a new ‘Spider-Man’ movie, to hit theaters in 2017. But who will play the web-slinger? As predicted, it won’t be Andrew Garfield. We’ve got a little more info on Marvel and Sony’s plans, which shed even more optimistic light on this very positive (and super exciting!) news.

Yesterday, Sir Patrick Stewart revealed that he would not, as was widely suspected, be returning for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’. He did, however, tease his involvement in the next ‘Wolverine’ movie saying, “we have been talking about a Wolverine movie, which would team Hugh Jackman and myself together.” He offered no further details, so we took this rumor straight to the man himself, Wolverine, and asked Hugh Jackman for some details.

We spoke to Hugh Jackman earlier today for his upcoming movie ‘Chappie’ (we’ll have much more on that movie soon), and as we were making small talk, we asked Mr. Jackman whether he had heard the news yet about Marvel and Sony Pictures coming to terms on an agreement that would allow Spider-Man to crossover into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had not. He was very surprised.

By now you already know that Spider-Man is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of a new deal between Marvel and Sony. (By now you’ve also “SQUEEEE!”d about fifty times.) But this pact has ramifications beyond just the Wall-Crawler’s cinematic future. With Sony putting a new solo ‘Spider-Man’ movie on the release calendar for July 28, 2017, that’s necessitated some shuffling of Marvel’s own upcoming movies.

Not much is known about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ yet, and that’s just the way Marvel wants it. But, just because we know nothing about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ doesn’t mean that Marvel knows nothing about it. Director James Gunn said he sat down with the studio to detail his vision for the upcoming superhero sequel, and their reaction was, “Whoa. That’s risky.”

Marvel stars Chris Pratt and Chris Evans—Seahawks and Patriots fans, respectively—made a bet on Twitter on which of their teams would win the Super Bowl. At stake? The loser would have to visit a local charity dressed as their superhero. The Patriots beat the Seahawks in dramatic fashion, so Pratt, in full Star-Lord costume, lived up to his end of the bargain and visited Christopher's Haven, a home for kids and their families battling cancer in Boston.

We know that Tony Stark's Iron Man suit is powerful—when fully charged, it can lift over 100 tons—but, we probably didn't realize just how heavy it is. The original suit in the first ‘Iron Man’ movie weighed over 90 lbs. That's big, hot costume to have to act in all day. And, to think, it was almost not even Robert Downey, Jr. underneath all that armor. We’ve been hearing bits and pieces about various elements of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ from the origins of Ultron and Vision to who Andy Serkis might be playing in the film. But we haven’t heard a whole lot about what’s up with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, the super-powered twins teased at the end of ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’ What we do know is that they’re going up against the Avengers. What we haven’t known is why…until now. Plus, Marvel has released a bunch of photos from the upcoming sequel, in case you felt like Hulking-out.

Everybody knows by know of the Stan Lee cameos in the Marvel movies, and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ is no exception. You probably also recognized the voice of Gary Sinise as the narrator of the Captain America exhibit at the Smithsonian in the movie. But, did you catch the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo by ‘Avengers 2’ director Joss Whedon? The ‘X-Men’ franchise is headed for an ‘Apocalypse’ in the near future, making headlines left and right with its latest castings, but a small-screen outing of Marvel’s mightiest mutants might evolve into place as early as 2016. FOX has confirmed development on a potential ‘X-Men’ TV series, though Disney may well block the efforts.

Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ has yet to release a frame of footage from its forthcoming Netflix TV series, but that hasn’t stopped followup series ‘AKA Jessica Jones’ from pushing forward. Not only do we know ‘Who’ the major villain of the Krysten Ritter super-detective drama will be, but David Tennant himself will portray the mysterious purple baddie.

‘Avengers 2’ graced the cover of Empire Magazine this month, and while there are two covers featuring new looks at Ultron and the team’s new lineup, it’s something on the inside of this issue that caught our attention. Director Joss Whedon spoke to Empire and dropped this bomb: “I’ve come to the conclusion that Ultron is right. The Avengers need to die.”

There are some actors, like Idris Elba, who are weary of starring in big-budget superhero movies (“torture” was the specific word he used to describe the process). Anthony Mackie is not one of those actors. In fact, he couldn’t be more excited about his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only is he completely jacked up about starring in ‘Captain America 3’, he wants to star in every Marvel sequel. “Me and Groot can boogie!”

The post-credits scene for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ featured a rather unexpected comic book character, which inspired fan speculation over whether or not this particular character would make another appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While we won’t see him on the big screen again anytime soon, he is getting his very own comic book sequel to help explain how he ended up in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’

It was one of the most enticing bits of news to come out of the Sony e-mail hack: Marvel and Sony had deep discussions about introducing Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel badly wanted Spider-Man to be a part of 'Captain America: Civil War', but despite the best intentions from all parties, a deal was never struck and progress was reset back to square one. But, has hope been restored? A new report suggests that Marvel and Sony returned to the negotiating table and have struck a deal for Spidey to make his spectacular debut in 'Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1'.

We’ve gone through this trailer a few times and pulled out some of the more interesting elements to dissect and discuss. We’re not literally going to screencap every single moment (no one needs to see a shot of Tony Stark walking with our commentary of, “Here’s Tony Stark walking…”), just the ones that need highlighting and could reveal some things about the secrets of ‘Avengers 2’. Ready? (Spoilers ahead, obviously.)

The last ‘Avengers 2’ trailer was pretty fantastic, but like all good teases, it left us wanting more. One cannot subside on a single Hulkbuster GIF alone! Well today our Marvel overlords have granted us the sweet release we so desperately need in a brand new ‘Avengers 2’ trailer and it was well worth the wait.

If you watched the new ‘Ant-Man’ trailer during the premiere of ‘Agent Carter’ earlier this week, you caught the note at the end to logon to EW.com to see more from the movie. Unfortunately, if you logged on, you didn’t really see anything, because all that stuff was actually in the magazine. But, now Entertainment Weekly’s new ‘Ant-Man’ images have finally appeared online and we get a good look at Paul Rudd in and out of the Ant-Man costume, as well as a new shot of Evangeline Lilly.

We’ve been looking forward to Marvel’s Netflix ‘Daredevil’ for well over a year now, and with production having moved onto ‘AKA Jessica Jones,’ the streaming service has finally set a premiere for the first of its street-level heroes. ‘Daredevil’ will officially hit Netflix in its first season entirety April 10, the first of ‘The Defenders‘ to hit the streets, and with a brand new poster!
