PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Brothers who were acquitted in the armed occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge are heading to Nevada, where they will be tried on charges stemming from a 2014 standoff with federal agents near their father's ranch.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval says he's considering legal action to force the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to pony up some money to pay for roundups of wild horses that have been put on hold because of budgetary constraints.
Twin Falls County Commissioners are working on a proposed livestock control ordinance that may help with some of the safety issues involved when livestock get out of their fences and wind up on public roads. Fines are proposed in the ordinance for livestock owners who persistently do little to keep their livestock from getting out. A first time violation would could cost violators $50 per day per animal. The second would cost $100 per day per animal.
