Body Of Jerome Soldier To Return Friday
(AP) - Military officials say the body of U.S. Army soldier from Jerome will be turned over to his family at a private honorable transfer ceremony Friday at Magic Valley Regional Airport in Twin Falls. Twenty-seven-year-old Sgt. Daniel J. Brown died March 24 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan after he was injured when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.
Twin Falls Soldier Recuperates In Texas
A soldier from Twin Falls is recovering in a San Antonio, Texas hospital after being severely injured in an IED explosion in February 7th. The Times News reports that Army Pvt. Terence “Bo” Jones lost both legs and his left arm was severely injured in that explosion in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan
Brundage To Open, Magic And Soldier Still Waiting
Snow lovers in Idaho, especially in the ski town of McCall, are rejoicing as word of an opening date nears Friday for Brundage Ski Area. Wednesday the community officially kicked off the ski season. Brundage officials reported 2 inches fell Tuesday and in the last 48 hours a total of 7 inches fell on the base of the mountain. Brundage officials say they will be opening Friday morning at 9 with the front side opening with limited groomed runs.
Ski Resorts Still Waiting For Snow
Many of the states ski resorts still aren’t open thanks to a lack of snow. Magic Mountain south of Hansen still hasn’t opened and neither has Soldier Mountain near Fairfield. Brundage Mountain is counting on an incoming snow storm to make their 50th birthday celebration something to remember.
