KETCHUM, Idaho (KLIX) – Want to get outdoors Saturday?

Here’s one way to spend your Memorial Day weekend: Head to Sawtooth Botanical Garden at 8:30 a.m. for a fun, family-oriented outing to view the many varieties of wildflower that Idaho has to offer.

As a bonus, you’ll likely see many varieties of birds. Botanist Carol Blackburn, birder Poo Wright Pulliam and naturalist Ann Christensen will lead groups on a journey through the Centennial Marsh, where both birds and flowers thrive.

If Saturday turns rainy, no worries. Once the Garden schedules a walk, it happens. It is suggested that you come prepared, however. “Bring appropriate outerwear, sturdy walking shoes, water, sunscreen, hat and lunch,” reads information on the Garden’s website. “Some walks are appropriate for children age 7 years and older accompanied by an adult.”

The walks are free, but donations to the Garden are accepted. The event is scheduled to wrap up by 3 p.m.
