The Trials of The Preble Jumping Mouse!

Officially the government calls them jumping mice.

A caller shared in Idaho we call them kangaroo rats.  One government agency claimed some were of a separate species and instituted heavy handed controls on private landowners in neighboring states.  Then 4 years ago a pair of scientists determined the Preble Jumping Mouse is the same as all jumping mice from Colorado to Alaska and, yet.  The bureaucrats in Washington haven’t jumped to change the designation some of the rats are endangered.  You wonder how long this insanity must persist before some sense prevails.  It was up for discussion on Top Story.  It’s also cost taxpayers over 100 million dollars!
