I believe I can scientifically prove that Twin Falls is redneck. First, let me qualify this. I also consider myself partially redneck. I once competed in a mud dash through a monster truck mud pit. That should score me 500 redneck points. However, there are so many redneck elements in Twin Falls, my redneck-ism barely appears on the radar.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a redneck as this.

a white person who lives in a small town or in the country especially in the southern U.S., who typically has a working-class job, and who is seen by others as being uneducated and having opinions and attitudes that are offensive

I disagree with this. Rednecks are not limited to the South. They are not necessarily uneducated and while we have attitudes, they aren't always offensive. I prefer the Urban Dictionary's definition better.

You would be a redneck if:

You need one more hole punched in your card to get a freebie at the House of Tattoos.

Here's why Twin Falls impresses me as a redneck town. Just about every house in the neighborhood we live in has a big truck and either a jet ski and/or an ATV. Even though all of our yards are small, everyone else has a riding mower.

Have you counted how many tattoo shops we have here in Twin Falls? The number is staggering. Not casting any stones here. I have 3 myself, but wow.

When I walk home at night, there isn't a day where I don't have a pickup truck drive by me with a muffler the size of Pocatello.

No doubt that all of Twin Falls isn't redneck. There are people here that get there clothes from The Gap.

What do you think? Is Twin Falls a redneck town? I vote yes.
