SEATTLE (AP) — The Drug Enforcement Administration says nearly 17 tons of expired or unwanted prescription drugs were collected on last Saturday's national Drug Take-Back Day in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

The Seattle regional office says that's 2 tons more than the previous take-back event last September in the region. State-by-state totals for safe disposal of old drugs: Washington 7.4 tons, Oregon 5.2 tons, Idaho 2.1 tons, Alaska 1.9 tons. The DEA says 371 tons were collected nationally.
