My kids have been asking every week since Christmas when they will be able to go camping. Luckily for my kids, Idaho is one of the best places to live if you enjoy camping. We have countless places to set up our tents or RVs.

Here are the top 10 best camping spots in southern Idaho. If we left your favorite spot off the list tell us about it. The more places to go this summer the better!

Redfish Lake - This stunning lake is cold but offers crystal clear water, sandy beaches and is the beginning to many amazing hiking trails.

Anderson Ranch Reservoir - If flat water kayaking, jet ski's or ski boats is something you enjoy Anderson Ranch Reservoir is perfect. The reservoir is close to hot springs and is surrounded by beautiful the Idaho forest.

Island Park - Home of the largest caldera created by a prehistoric volcano. This is reason enough for me to pack up the kids and go but if you need more...Island Park is home to great hiking, fishing, amazing scenery and Yellowstone National Park is only 15 miles away.

Ride jet ski's, paddle board, hike, ride bicycles, walk around the cute town of McCall and still be surrounded by beautiful forests near an incredible lake.

Bear Lake State Park - Spend the weekend on the water at this amazing state park.

Lake Walcott State Park - This is a great location for a large family gathering. Play frisbee golf, hike, bike, horseback ride and more at Lake Walcott.

Bruneau State Park - Take advantage of the famous sand boarding that takes place in this beautiful state park. You can also enjoy fishing, bird watching, kite flying, star gazing and more.

Middle Fork of the Boise River - There are several campgrounds along the Boise River. See amazing wildlife and enjoy beautiful scenery at this camping destination.

City of Rocks - If rock climbing is a hobby of yours you must camp at City of Rocks. This is a great family camping destination too. Your kids will love climbing on the smaller rocks!

The South Hills - If you don't want to travel far from Twin Falls and still want great hiking, biking, horseback riding and ATV trails this place it perfect for you and your family. Two main campgrounds are available in the South Hills, Porcupine Springs and Lower Penstemon Campground, as well as several other great campground locations. There are several creeks that run through the area that provide peaceful sounds that match the beautiful scenery.
