Twin Falls BLM Names Council Appointments

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Several Magic Valley residents have been appointed or reappointed to positions of the Bureau of Land Management’s Twin Falls District citizen-based Resource Advisory Council.

Members of local RACs advise the BLM on public land management issues

Those returning for reappointment include Mike Henslee, federal grazing permittee, Hagerman; and Tom Courtney, public at large, Twin Falls. Those newly appointed are Shell Howard, dispersed recreation, Twin Falls; Hunter Osborne, tribal interests, Pocatello; and Brad Ford, environmental organization, Soda Springs.

“Resource Advisory Councils are critical elements of our collaborative approach to public land management,” said BLM Idaho State Director Tim Murphy. “I appreciate the diverse perspectives we get from our Resource Advisory Council members, and thank all of them for volunteering their time and talents to help improve public land management at the local level.”

Each RAC consists of 12 to 15 members, according to the BLM, who represent stakeholder interests in public land management, such as conservationists, outdoor recreationists, ranchers, industry officials, tribal leaders, state and local government officers, academics and others.
