Idaho Republican Party executive director Jonathan Parker says Twin Falls was chosen unanimously by the party's state central committee. The Times-News reports the decision was made over the weekend after the committee was wooed by a presentation promoting the city. Twin Falls County Republicans Chairwoman Gretchen Clellen says the meeting is expected to boost the local economy as some 1,000 delegates and their families travel to the convention. The event happens every two years, typically in June. Republicans held their last convention in Idaho Falls.
