The City of Twin Falls has closed both eastbound lanes near the 800 block of Falls Avenue to repair a broken waterline. Eastbound traffic will be limited to one lane that will be detoured through the median at the construction area.

Water was reported to be pooling along Falls Avenue just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, and the City Water Department was dispatched to investigate. Upon further inspection, it was determined that a waterline had ruptured beneath the shoulder of the roadway.

Workers will remove a portion of the shoulder along Falls Avenue to expose the pipe to determine the cause and extent of the rupture. Please visit the City’s website at www.fid.org, or subscribe to email or text alerts, for updates on the repairs and road closures.

Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate eastbound route, such as Addison Avenue, Filer Avenue, or Pole Line Road. North College Road remains closed to through traffic between Washington Street North and Fillmore Street for the Cheney Drive Loop expansion project.
