TWIN FALLS, Id ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The City of Twin Falls is expanding after a green light from the city council Monday evening. After a long process approximately 53 acres including part of the Sunway Soccer Complex will now be within the city limits.

The council voted five to zero to adopt an ordinance for annexation of the property. The Twin Falls School District has been looking at the annexed property for another new school, which is four to five years away. "This is the final step and an ordinance certifies that annexation the documents are sent to the state and the property becomes in the city limits.

It takes about five months to go through the process and we're at the last stage,” said city Zoning and Development Manager Renee Carraway Johnson. In another action the council approved a rezone from residential to commercial of the property at 1629 Locust Street North
