There is a plan in the works that could relocate many of the Twin Falls County offices into the former St. Luke’s Hospital building on West Addison in Twin Falls.  The Times News reports today that   an Hummel Architects presented a rough plan and a $5.8 million cost estimate to remodel part of the old hospital building.  County Commissioners looked at the plan this week and indicated they were pleased with the proposed plan.

The county has enough money set aside from the deal with St. Luke’s to remodel the part of the structure the offices would be moving into.   Commissioners said the cost to remodel the old hospital is about a million dollars cheaper than the estimate a few years ago to remodel the former clinic building on Shoshone Street.  The proposed plan would keep most of law enforcement and the prosecutor’s office near the current Judicial building next to the court house.  Many other county departments such as the commissioners, clerk, treasurer and others would move to the old hospital building.  The commissioners stressed that there is nothing final at this point and plans could still change in the future.
