Salmon Dam Reservoir, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A 73-year-old man was rescued Friday (4/3) afternoon after being stranded near Salmon Dam Reservoir for eight days.

Jay Draper of Twin Falls was riding in his Hyundai Elantra when his vehicle became stuck on the northwest side of the reservoir. According to Lori Stewart of the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, he was spotted this morning by someone recreating in the area.

In initial reports, the man claims he had not eaten or had water for quite some time. He was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley to be evaluated and re-hydrated.
