TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Police have responded to a person that has barricaded themselves at 343 5th Ave North after a domestic dispute.

UPDATE: As of 6:30am Friday: The standoff has now entered its 24th hour as police continue to coax a man from the house.

UPDATE: 5:25AM FRIDAY: Law enforcement is still on the scene where a man has refused to come out of a house in down town Twin Falls. 5th Street in the area is still blocked.

UPDATE: 2:50 PM - With the 3:30 dismissal time, fast approaching, the Lincoln Elementary and the Twin Falls School District officials have developed a plan for students. Currently the district is sending a “all call” to parents to avoid Dierkes to Fairfield streets and 4th to 6th streets. The school district is also asking parents to use 2nd and Buhl streets and avoid Castleford street.

Eva Craner with the school district said that the bus that stops at Salvation Army’s building for the Middle and High School students will instead drop students off at Lincoln Elementary

12/11/14 at 12:37 PM UPDATE: Benito Baeza is on scene describing a male talking to police through a window located in the back of the home. The male appears to be holding a kitchen knife. Twin Falls SWAT is also on scene and have taken to the roof of the Salvation Army Building.

According to Google Earth that address is listed as a home. City dispatch was only able to confirm the location at this time. Twin Falls County has been called to assist with negotiations.

Police have reportedly shut down that block as well. According to Twin Falls School district officials Lincoln Elementary is holding students inside until the issue is resolved.
