Tuesday evening the Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request by the Magic Valley Bible Church to move downtown, into the former Cain’s Furniture building.  The vote was five to four.  This was the second request from the church.  The first request was denied by the commission claiming the church did not fit in to the downtown plan.  The commissioners heard and read testimony from those for and against the church locating so close to downtown merchants.  Some argued that the area should be used for more bars and restaurants while others felt there were no compelling reasons to deny the church’s request.  The final decision rests with the Twin Falls City Council.  Opponents of the church locating in the building are not yet sure if they will appeal the decision.
