NAMPA, Idaho (KTVB) -- Two women were taken to a Nampa hospital after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 84 Monday morning . Idaho State Police say 26-year-old Andrea Shepherd of Twin Falls was headed east near milepost 33 in Nampa at about 7:30 a.m. when traffic ahead of her slowed. Shepherd failed to slow down, and her 1999 Subaru Legacy slammed into the back of a Jeep driven by 35-year-old Thad Harris of Caldwell.

Harris swerved, and his vehicle went int the median. Shepherd's car continued forward, rear-ending a Chrysler 200 driven by 30-year-old Rebecca McNutt of Caldwell. The impact pushed McNutt's car into a Honda Accord driven by 62-year-old Randall Jensen of Ontario, Ore. Shepherd and McNutt were injured in the wreck, and were both taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa.

The crash blocked the left lane of eastbound I-84 for about an hour. All lanes have since been reopened. Shepherd was cited for inattentive or careless driving. The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
