Twin Falls Woman To Plead Guilty To Embezzlement

A Twin Falls woman is expected to change her plea to guilty after being accused of embezzling nearly $400,000 from her former employer.  57 year old Marie Watkins was arraigned in Twin Falls County 5th District Court Wednesday on felony grand theft charges.  Company officials from Twin Falls Branch of Alliance Title and Escrow of Boise had discovered over $366,000 missing from the company during the time Watkins was under their employ. Company officials claim that Watkins allegedly told an independent accounting firm that she had taken the money to pay for bills and her children’s college expenses.  However, she did not speak with police. A hearing will be held on April 2nd.
