BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Two people have died in a head-on crash after their vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on U.S. Highway 95 in southwest Idaho and collided with a semitrailer.

Idaho State Police say 21-year-old Darin Thomas and 22-year-old Christian Alder, both from Weiser, were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision that occurred at about 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

Police say Thomas was driving north when the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta crossed into the southbound lane and collided with the semitrailer about six miles south of Weiser. Police say the semitrailer driver was not transported to a medical facility. Police are investigating the crash.
